Counselling for when you've been coping for too long

Sometimes we become so used to coping that we don't realise how much we're carrying.

I offer warm, confidential online counselling for adults, providing a safe space to slow down, make sense of what you're experiencing and explore what might help.

A space to understand what's happening beneath the surface

Maybe you have recently had a major life change or experienced a loss, you no longer recognise your world and need some help to reorient yourself.

It could be that you feel a sense of unease in yourself, or feel as though you don't 'fit in'.

Or perhaps you grew up feeling that you had to be the responsible one, keep the peace, put other people's needs first, or keep certain feelings to yourself.

Whatever your experience, we start with where you are now and what feels important to you — whether that's something currently happening in your life, a relationship you're struggling with, difficult emotions, or experiences from the past that still feel relevant.

Counselling can give you the opportunity to explore these experiences with curiosity and compassion, and to begin developing a clearer understanding of yourself and what you need.

How I work

I work in a person-centred way. This means there isn't a set path we have to follow, and I won't tell you what you should do or try to fit you into a predetermined solution.

Instead, we'll explore what feels important to you, at a pace that feels manageable. Sometimes that may mean looking at what's happening in your life right now; sometimes it may mean understanding patterns or experiences that have shaped you over time.

My aim isn't to fix you. It's to provide a genuine therapeutic relationship where you can feel heard, understood and accepted.

A little about me

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent many years working in the musical world as a piano tuner and technician. Although counselling and piano tuning might seem like very different things, both have taught me the importance of listening carefully.

As a piano technician, I learned to notice subtle changes in tone, tension and resonance. As a counsellor, I bring that same patience and attentiveness to the people I work with.

You don't have to work everything out on your own.

I offer online counselling sessions via Zoom, lasting 50 minutes and costing £60 per session.

If you're considering counselling but aren't sure whether it's right for you, I offer a free 20-minute introductory call. This gives us an opportunity to meet, discuss what brings you to counselling and see whether working together feels right for you.
